Years ago I heard my students complain about how they felt they couldn’t change anything. This inspired me to lead by example in showing them all the ways they could have a positive impact locally. I’ve had the pleasure of bringing neighbors together to create the Pocket/Greenhaven Community Association, Sojourner Truth Community Garden and to serve our city as a member for the Sacramento Disabilities Advisory Commission. It’s all about taking “Pride” in your community. That is why I continue to promote “Pocket Pride” in our neighborhood and I hope you can join me in continuing to make our neighborhood the best around.
